Plumero – 3D animation (720p)

Plumero comes from spanish word duster and that’s also a name of the Dakar Rally Concept Car – Animation developed for Croatian Dakar Team. Based on the design of Dario Dropucic and engineering by experienced Race Engineering company Kvocic d.o.o. and Faculty of mechanical engineering (Zagreb, Croatia) car was modelled, textured, rigged, animated and rendered in the desert environment. The whole project was executed under short deadline of twelve working days. So more important feels the rigging part of the process which was covered by Fredrik Stenson.

In overall, design of the rally concept car is dedicated to engineering and functionality. There were a lot of rules to follow, regarding the conditions on one side and Dakar compettion guidelines on another. There are still some rules left in digital medium but impression of what is real could be bend. Therefore intention of Art direction was to show and present another emotional, artistic side of the project, still packed with action in counterpart with a nature of a desert.

Kraken is a short motion video. These images are a sneak peak to the work in progress based on concept of the future. Project scenario could be our culture transcending to the world of no meaning other than consuming itself. At the end of the production cycle nothing will be left of our society but products itself. Now they freely float in white and sterile spaces as the only remembrance of their creators who build them. Their shape looks like nature in it’s purest form but it is obvious that their creation is artificial. They look alive, but nothing really lives in vacuum of white limbo, other than materialistic manifestation of the brand and it’s core values.

Darker, harder, better, stronger… I introduce you a new standard compliant Version 7. MOTH3R has come a long way from 4th version of my online portfolio. For your information I have skipped 5th and 6th versions of my designs to come up with a current one. Instead of mix of static and WordPress pages all the data is now handled through PHP & MySQL database. Otherwise than a new layout and new information architecture there are bunch of other features. Even though some things are already there hard coded by default I customized WordPress to my needs with a help of complementary plugins. So there is my own implementation of sidebar, post options and details, social networking share system and enabled comments for all the work and news section of the site. Navigation should not be or feel linear at all, you should be able to browse by tabs, tags, sidebar menus, post details or links in the content. I have to announce my move from Windows to Linux server based hosting as well. I can already tell a difference. It is much faster. I cannot feel a thing, the lag I was experiencing before is all gone now. What I am missing the most now are just your comments so if you wanna express your opinion be my guest.

Version 4 of my portfolio has been chosen for Web Design Index for this 2008 year. A book by Günter Beer has been published by Pepin Press from Amsterdam.

WordPress with version 2.5 had a major update. Both code and design wise that popular CMS system progressed a lot. Anyway, I was still looking for something nice so I paired it with Fluency plugin. Described as a custom theme for WP administration it is great addition to what WordPress already is. There are some other nothing less great news so head over here to read them in detail.

When I occasionally get emails starting with a word “congratulations”, they are instantly marked as spam. I almost overlooked a fact that MowsNet awarded me for the 4th version of my website. Update: you are just watching the 7th incarnation of the website.

Ivan Santic, a member of HyperIsland’s Crew12, has got himself one of the least blog-looking blogs around. The way he’s used Flash, added his portfolio and made use of mouseover images in the right hand column, all makes for an experience that feels far from any WordPress site I’ve ever visited in the past. In addition to his knack for design, Ivan’s got some good 3D skills, obviously.

I am chosen. I have been accepted to Hyper Island as member of the very new Crew12. I am one of 61 chosen students lucky enough to take an active part of the famous Swedish school, based on “learning by doing”. I consider this as a great opportunity to get a good grip on design, process and industry itself. Hyper Island’s program of Digital Media is a very intensive one and that is exactly what I was looking for.
